18V 5ah battery fully-charged but doesn’t work
AnsweredHi. I have a cordless drill that came with an 18V 5ah battery. The battery is fully charged (all three lights are green when the test button is depressed), but the drill started cutting out intermittently and now won’t work at all. Also, it won’t connect with the charger (the charger light comes on as the battery is being inserted, but goes out when the battery is fully in position), so it looks like a fault with the battery’s contacts. I’ve owned the drill for more than a year, so it’s out of warranty, but it only gets occasional use on diy projects so I wouldn’t expect the battery to be anywhere near the end of its life. Any advice on cleaning/repairing the contacts? My nearest Dewalt service centre is an hour’s drive away.
