I am looking to add this tool to my shop. Would like to know if the Helical head is worth the cost at over $400 to make this planer even smoother to operate. Make a lot if cutting boards so the smother the planing the better.

We want to let you know that the helical head you are referring to is not manufactured by DEWALT. It's made by a different company so we can't advise.
