DeWalt DXAEJ14 Jump starter icons

I'm trying to jump start a dead battery in my Suburban. The clamp icons are steady and the engine/jump starter icon flashes even after I turn the jump switch to on. What does that mean?

I am having the same problem with the same product. Was there an answer why the engine icon keeps flashing after I turn on the Jump Starter switch?

I did not get a real answer from DeWalt or anywhere else. But as it turns out my battery was bad and I had it replaced with a new one. So I take the flashing icon to mean there's a fault or problem with the battery. My trickle charger showed a fault, too.
