18v brushless die grinder 1/4"collet
I have recently bought the 18v brushless die grinder DGC426N. This comes with the standard 6mm collet. I was hopping this would have enough flexibility to also accept 1/4" diameter bits as I have a large assortment of them. Is it possible to get a 1/4" collet for this tool, I understand the corded Dewalt die grinders are 1/4 collets as standard but I am unsure if they will fit the DGC426N. I guess I might have to end up dressing down some of the shanks on 1/4 dia bits to 6mm to make them usable.I understand it would be extra cost but why can't Dewalt include a 1/4 collet as an extra in the box when you buy the tool. Especially as nowadays Dewalt tools no longer have there price advantage over other Pro/semi pro tool manufacturers as they once did. Initial impressions of the tool is that it is good and well specified, but using it with a 50mm hook and loop sanding pad tool is awkward as the tool really is not designed to be used vertically to the work piece. I guess further use and practice will help with this.
