    I have the same problem, tried 3 times and found the gears that tighten the chain & bar just slip.  I contacted the parts dept from this site and the assistant could not help.  He sent me a parts drawing and none of us could identify those gears below the chain sprocket.  Please contact me also jasoneaaron@gmail.com

    There are 2 bevel gears that adjust the bar tensioner pin. They get worn out and the teeth break. This allows the teeth to skip and loosen the bar. See attached photo.

    the one on the tensioner threaded rod appears worse but I would replace both.

    To access remove the bar and chain, next remove the metal plate with teeth ( 3 torx screws) and then the 2 slotted screws to access the compartment where this tensionning assemble is located.
