An assignment can be an object, place, or person.
1. Click "Assignments" in the left sidebar.
2. At the upper right-hand corner, click on the '+' icon to add a new assignment.
3. When you create a new assignment, a window will pop up where you can enter all the necessary information for that assignment.
You can provide the assignment name, and job code.
The checkbox 'make this a home assignment' is like a warehouse where you can store all your tools. It is a default place where you can keep track of your tools and find them easily.
4. Enter the location detail and select the point of contact.
The 'Point of Contact' dropdown will display a list of all the users you have added into the system.
5. You also have the option to create or make sub-assignments.
Sub-assignments are useful if you have multiple tasks within an assignment and want to keep them organized.
6. And you have the option to turn on the toggle and receive periodic email notifications about this assignment. when done click "SAVE"
Create a Sub-Assignment
7. After creating the "Acme Tools" assignment, create a new assignment, enter all the required information and select the "Make this a sub-assignment' checkbox. A drop-down menu will appear where you can select the parent assignment.
8. Click "SAVE" button to create your new sub-assignment.
9. Your new sub-assignment will now be listed under the parent assignment, and you can easily manage and track your tools within this sub-assignment.
Deactivating an Assignment
10. If you wish to remove an Assignment you can deactivate it. Deactivating an assignment does not delete it from your account and you can choose to reactivate it later.
11. To deactivate an Assignment, click on the name of the assignment you wish to deactivate.
Keep in mind that if there are any Sub Assignments or inventory assigned to the Assignment they will need to be removed first prior to deactivation.
12. Click on the pencil icon 'Edit Assignment' located on the top right-hand corner.
13. Here, you can edit and make changes to the assignment if needed. On the bottom left of the 'Edit' window, click on the 'Deactivate' button.
14. You will be asked to confirm you wish to deactivate. Click "YES"
15. After deactivating the assignment, you will return to the assignment page. Click on the 'Deactivate' tab to view all the deactivated assignments listed.
16. If you wish to reactivate an assignment, simply click on its name of the assignment.
17. The 'Edit' window will appear. Click on the 'Activate' button to restore the assignment.
From the 'Import' Screen
If you have several assignments to enter at once, importing a .CSV spreadsheet may be the best option for you. To import a list of your assignments, navigate to the 'Import' screen from the link in the left sidebar and follow the instructions.
