Inventory can be added to Assignments which can be seen by People.

Adding to an Assignment

To add inventory to an assignment on the web, navigate to the 'Inventory' screen using the link in the left sidebar.

Select the tools you want to assign in the table list using the checkboxes to the left of an item.

You will notice a new row of icons has appeared with the title 'Manage'. Click or tap on the 'Assign' flag icon.

A modal window will appear labeled 'Assign'. From there, enter a new assignment or select an existing assignment and click or tap 'SET' to complete.

Bulk add to an Assignment

To add inventory in bulk to an Assignment on the web, navigate to the 'Assignments' screen using the link in the left sidebar. Then choose the Assignment that you want to add inventory.

Click the button in the top right corner that says ‘Assign Tools’. This will load the Assign Tools view and show you the complete inventory.

Choose what tools you want to add to this assignment and then press the yellow ‘Add’ button at the top.

This will add them to the Assignment List on the right. You will see that they now show as In List on the left and are added to the list on the right. You can remove any that you have added to the list by clicking the ‘X Remove’ option.

Continue to add any additional tools to this assignment you may want. You can scroll through the Inventory and change the page number and your list that you have already compiled will stay on the right. You can also add a Start and End date of the assignment. Once finished, press the ‘COMPLETE’ button in the bottom right. You will see that selected tools are now added to the assignment.

Adding to an Assignment

Adding inventory to an assignment is an easy way for workers in the field to move tools from one place or another. A worker must have Administrator or Site Admin permission in order to assign inventory. For more information about permissions see 4.1: Owner & Administrator Roles (Tool Connect™ Site Manager).

To start assigning inventory tap on the ‘Inventory’ option along the bottom of the screen.

Then tap the ‘Select’ option in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You will notice that there are now check boxes next to each item.

Tap on the tools you wish to add, then tap on the ‘Manage’ button on the bottom of the screen, then tap ‘Assign’.

You will be presented with a drop-down menu with a list of assignments, tap on it to view a list of all available assignments.

Tap on the assignment you wish to add the tools to. Then tap ‘Assign’

The selected tools will now show the Assignment you selected.

Bulk add to an Assignment

To add inventory in bulk to an Assignment on mobile, navigate to the 'Assignments' screen using the button on the bottom left of the app. Then choose your Assignment that you want to add inventory.

Once you are in the assignment, press the ‘Assign Tools’ button in the top right of the screen. This will take you to a screen that will give you three options to add tools, ‘Scan’, ‘Identify’, and ‘Search’.

To add tools in bulk using the barcodes on the tools, choose the ‘Scan’ option. This will open up the scanner and will allow you to use the camera on your device to scan the tools that you want to add to the assignment. The scanner will accept barcodes as well as QR codes.

Once finished scanning press ‘Add’ and if you are done adding assets to this assignment choose ‘Complete’.

To add tools in bulk using the button on Tool Connect™ enabled tools, tags, and connectors, choose the ‘Identify’ option. This will prompt you to press the button on Tool Connect™ enabled tools, tags, and connectors that you want to add to the assignment. As you press each button they will show up at the bottom.

Once you are finished press ‘Add’ and if you are done adding tools to this Assignment choose ‘Complete’.

To add tools in bulk manually choose the ‘Search’ option. This will open up the list of tools where you can select using a checkbox which ones you want to add or use a text search to find a particular tool.

Once you are finished press ‘Add’ and if you are done adding tools to this Assignment choose ‘Complete’.

You will then see that the tools are now assigned.
