A common user frustration is clutches in hammers are set too high to offer the proper control during bind-up (such as hitting rebar). CTC is a patented 2-stage clutch system designed to give the operator maximum control while drilling.
Clutch Position #1 is set to engage at apx 30 ft lbs of torque (twice as sensitive competitive hammers)
- If the operator hits rebar for example -- the tool will be very easy to control
- This position has enough torque for 90% of all drilling applications.
Clutch Position #2 is set to engage at apx 60 ft lbs of torque (same as competitive hammers)
- This is the position the user will want to use for core-drilling applications or very deep holes (20"+)
When the tool is unplugged and plugged back in -- the CTC will always default back to clutch setting #1 -- the setting with the most control.
