The D55168 and D55146 have a max tank PSI of 200 (the cut out pressure is also 200 PSI, +/- 10%), however the units are designed to regulate up to 140 PSI. The PSI is regulated for two reasons:
1) Most pneumatic tools this unit operates require 120 psi or less.
2) This lowers the possibility of damage or harm to air tools through misapplication of the 200 PSI.

My fan broke and the compressor shut off. How do I fix it? I replace the fan and still won’t come on. D55168
D55168 Type 10 struggling to exceed 120 PSI tank pressure indicated after 45 minutes. I noticed day before yesterday unusually long runtime to replenish after blowgun use - what was usually 5 minutes or so stretched into a half-hour or more without achieving normal system pressure, and with a fair amount of hot air near the compressor, so I shut it down and tried to figure it out.
Purchased as new on remaindered sale at Lowe's 9/28/24.
It is currently disconnected from shop air plumbing but still struggling.
Yesterday, drained water from tank, today installed new air filter and started up with regulator at 0 and then increased to max, which history shows to be maybe 140-150 indicated.
The old air cleaner element had fine black particles, which I conjecture are from belt wear, but I don't know that. I don't think it was clogged at all, but replaced it on general principles. The unit may be doing SLIGHTLY better after the replacement; hard to tell.
