We offered an 18'' chain and bar for the DEWALT 60V FLEXVOLT DCCS670; however, both parts are currently discontinued, so the only options would be the 16'' bar and chain.
Note: The User Manuals still have the parts number for the 18'' bar and chain; those were printed when the parts were produced, but they are not available anymore.
For reference, parts were the N500117 Bar and the N500152 Chain.
I have the optional 18" bar and I love it, really makes the saw better. How can you discontinue it, that doesn't seem like real life. I need to order more before they disappear forever. How can I order one, they are unavailable online on ServiceNet. Would my local service center be able to order one for me?
I believe the DCCS670 chainsaw uses a "rebranded" Oregon bar and chains (refer to chainsawjournal.com). This means you can most likely put an 18" Oregon bar and chains on the chainsaw as long as you keep the gauge and pitch the same. I have not try this but I am planning to do so once I can get one .... although keeping the bar at 16" will give you more torque for cuttings.
Luppie is correct, the original bar and chain were DeWalt branded Oregon products. If you buy one now they are no longer Oregon, but rather TriLink. Really not much different. And yes, you can use any 18" bar so long as it is 3/8"lp and has the A041 tail mount, it does not need to be the "stock" .043 gauge. The optional N500117 18" bar they used to offer was a .050 gauge, which is part of what made it nice (less flex, chain stretches/wears less). Problem is it looks stupid if you use a white and read Oregon bar on it, vs. the black and yellow DeWalt branded bar.
In summary, if you wanna go 18", get a A041 tail mount 3/8"lp .050 gauge bar and 3/8"lp .050 gauge 62 link chain. There is no noticeable loss in torque.
