Batteries are not working in Blower
AnsweredI have 2 DCE100 handheld blowers. I got one 2 years ago and another last week. Neither blower works with the fatter batteries like the 4AH and above. They both run for 1½ to 2 SECONDS and stop. I have to release the trigger and try again over and over with the very same result.
I thought it was compatible with ANY battery. All ads and product info states that ANY 20v battery will work. But in my case, only the small thin batteries up to 2AH will work. They only last about 8 to 10 minutes which makes my 2 blowers useless.
I have tried the DCB204 4AM batter and the 6AH battery but same issue with both. What is going on with your blowers and why will neither work with the larger 20v batteries??? And yes, my batteries are fully charged.
I have even seen this blower being sold as a package with the 4AH battery so why won't it work with mine???

Thank you and yes, the new battery you sent me fixed the issue. Apparently the old battery had a short or something in it??? But in any case, the new battery solved it and thank you again!

I bought 2 batteries and one won't even charge. I've submitted photos of numbers that was requested as well as tool. It doesn't seem to be helping any because I'm still without a battery. I finally had to go get another one.

We are having the exact same problem! We bought the blower about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. We have two batteries and just like you the blower only works for a minute.

I have this same issue as well. The blower starts and runs with a 1.5ah battery for about 1-2 seconds then shuts off. Can someone please help me?
EDIT: I also tried using this battery in another one of my tools yesterday (20v handheld circular saw) and saw the same behavior. The saw ramped up speed for about 1-2 seconds before shutting off.

I am having the same issue with my blower. It is less than 2 months old. I have trues 3 different dewalt batteries that are charged and working in other dewalt tools. Also still showing charged when plugged it to charger. Any advice would be appreciated. Very disappointing. I’ve got things to blow!! 🤣

Did you figure this issue? We have a blower too and none of the 5AH and 2 AH batteries work. The blower starts and stops intermittently.

I am having this same issue. Worked great when i first used it. Now i try to use this leaf blower now when winter/fall are hear and battery seems to not work. When i push the button to see battery life it green. So i think there is issue with battery.

I am having the same issue. Works for like a second and stops

This same thing is happening with our blower! It’s very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My problem is blower just had click sound and doesn't work anymore. The battery is fine. I thought it was bad contact, after debugging the fan worked for a second and then stopped, can someone please help me?
-
My blower does this also. It runs about one second then turns off. Remove battery , replace and it does the same. If I do this several times it may start working, then you can drain the battery but if you stop, you have to do the battery swap until it runs longer than 1 second.
I thought it was a switch but since its a weird thing, perhaps its internal electronics. I have 17 batteries from 20v 2ah to 60v 9ah. Age from 2013 to 2024. It doesnt matter what I try. It isnt battery, its the tool. This blower is the only tool that with any problems. All batteries work with all my other tools. Very frustrating.

Hi. I'm having a similar problem to all those above. I have 4 batteries and the same thing happens with all of them. The blower starts for a moment and then cuts off. I pull the trigger again and it starts and stops.
Batteries work great in absolutely all my other tools.

I just purchased a DCE100B blower yesterday and to my dismay it won’t work with my 2022 20v 5AH batteries. I had to spend an additional $100 on another 5AH battery to get it to work. Older batteries are in excellent shape and work just fine in my impact, skillsaw, multitool, etc. but won’t work in the blower. Frustrating
