Cut Off Saw

i have an 3+ year old carbide blade cut off saw. the old inaccurate angle gauge was not very good. does the new one with white letters actually give you 90 degree cuts when set on 90? and accurate 45 degree cuts when set on 45?

can that newer material stop angle gauge be put on an older cut off saw?
