Dewalt DCD999 clicking noise

Just got my Dewalt DCD999 today and noticed it does this clicking noise when I press and release the trigger.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, this is normal. The DCD999 is powerful and has a break so when the trigger is release the faster the chuck is spinning the more abrupt break it will have. Normally when working, the unit is allowed to come to full speed or speed of choosing for a while before releasing the trigger. Not recommended is to constant press and release or to change gears while the chuck is spinning which can cause other noises, clicking or issues-to damaging.
