Dewalt Leaf Blower Not Staying Attached
BesvaratMDL: DCBL772B the tube will not stay attached, the spring that holds the locking mechanism in place has lost its tension. The blower has not been used very much and I have never detached the tube so I'm not sure why it came off while I was using it. Wondering if this is something that's easily fixed rather than having to duct tape it on or just replace it entirely.

Hi, I am having this same issue. Is there a solution to this problem?
-
I’m also having the same issue with the spring not holding tension to keep the nozzle in place. Please help. Thanks.

I am having the same issue. Only a month old.
Thanks for help

Same Issue. Barely used! Nozzle suddenly fell off - think the spring slipped forward so there's no longer any tension
I appreciate your help fixing this.

I am having the same issue. I received my blower as a Christmas gift and the tube keeps coming off when I use it. Can the solution be posted as a reply to these comments?

Same problem with mine. Dewalt, there is clearly a fundamental problem with the design or manufacturing of this locking mechanism. Please step up and fix the problem. Your preferred solution of having us send the tool to one of your service centers is not a reasonable solution.

I also have the same issue. I also want to include that I have two of these one for my self and another I bought for a family member who gave it back to me because the tube keeps either shooting or falling out. I tried to return to the original retailer for warranty replacement/repair but both chin stores, both authorized retailers refused to accept them back either for exchange or repair so now have been stuck with them trying to fix them my self. Because when I called in I was told to take them back. But the retainer hides behind their store policy to supersede your warranty.

I have the same issue.

I have the same issue. The Dewalt manual states: 4. To remove the tube, insert a screwdriver into the unlocking hole 10 on the side of the blower tube. Depress the tab inside and pull tube off. Fig. D 8 4 9 1. Below links to see this locking tab.
This is what has broken on my unit and to replace it (if the part is even available) requires splitting the unit which I'm not willing to do. I simply drilled a small hole in the bottom of the unit housing and the tube (same time same hole) and then inserted a small screw that is slightly bigger than the hole. This holds the tube securely onto the unit. If it works loose someday I'll simply put a slightly larger screw in the hole or drill another hole.

I am having this exact same issue with the locking mechanism failure to hold the blower attachment. Is there a fix?
-
I’m in the same situation would rather have the correct fix.
-
I too have been having the same issue. It was a gift for Christmas 2024. Did first use it until about 2 months ago and only used twice!

I have the same issue. I have all my tools as Dewalt 20v but definitely not the quality of my other Dewalt 20v tools. Please advise if it can be fixed

Has there been any resolution to this issue? Mine just blew off while using the blower.

I was having the same issue. I did not feel comfortable taking it apart to fix the retainer and spring. I did as one of the previous people did by drilling a very small hole on the bottom side and using a small screw to hold it in place. It still felt a little flimsy after that, so I did the same thing on the top side to hold it a lot more secure.

I am having the exact same issue. Used this last fall, stored perfectly safe all winter in my garage, and now its falling off. It looks as though the spring that holds the locking clip in place has either lost tension or broke. Rather disappointed with something from Dewalt failing like this. Did anyone come up with a replacement part/fix other than putting a screw through a basically brand new tool?
-
All, call their service phone number or email them. They sent me a new one, didn’t have me return the old one. I put a couple of screws in the old one, which works fine. Their design is definitely bad, they have no fix yet.

I have same exact issue; haven't used much and the hose just keeps falling off.
