No, DEWALT generators offer a "Voltage Compensation" control scheme on our generators because we have brushless alternators.

Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR) are used on brushed-type alternators, which Honda uses.

The advantages of a brushless alternator are higher surge capacities and low maintenance. The disadvantage is a lower voltage output at low idle. AVR generators can idle lower and still provide a relatively high voltage (close to 110V).

For example, Honda generators idle down to 2000 RPM and provide 110V. We idle at about 2600RPM and provide about 85V. There is no disadvantage to this, because as soon as you plug something in to our generator and demand power, the engine idles up to 3600rpm, and provides the full 120V.
