You can sharpen punches until they reach a length of 2.72" on the DW898 and 2.44" on the DW897. Punches shorter than these can't be serviced. Sharpen punches approximately every 250 to 500 feet depending on material and thickness. Replace the wear plate on the DW897 when changing the punch.
