Pairing
Pairing DEWALT® Tool Connect™ enabled products is not available through the web at this time. Please use the Tool Connect™ Site Manager App to pair tools, batteries, tags, and connectors.
Linking
For tools that are not Tool Connect™ enabled, Site Manager provides an easy way to associate — or 'link' — DEWALT® Tags and Connectors to existing inventory. To link a tool to a Tool Connect™ enabled product, you will need to first pair the connected products to your account using the Site Manager app (for more information on Pairing in the app, see the section below).
Once Tool Connect™ products have been paired to your account, on the web, click on the checkbox next to the tool you wish to link,
then click or tap on the checkbox next to the Tag or Connector that will be linked to the tool.
Next, you will notice a menu of options has appeared with the name 'Manage' and a number of icons. Click or tap on the 'Link' icon.
Click or tap 'Link' to confirm.
You'll notice a new icon next to your tool showing that it is now linked to a Tag or Connector.
Clicking or tapping on the tool reveals the description of both the tool and the Tag or Connector it's linked to it.
To unlink a tool from a Tag or Connector, click or tap on the checkbox next to the tool description,
Next, you will notice a menu of options has appeared with the name 'Manage' and a number of icons. Click or tap on the 'Unlink' icon, you will be prompted to confirm.
This will return both items to their original, unlinked state.
In the Mobile App
Pairing
Pairing Tool Connect Tools, Batteries, Tags, and Connectors can be done with Administrator permissions or Site Admin permissions in the Tool Connect™ Site Manager app.
To begin pairing DEWALT® Tool Connect™ enabled products, tap on the ‘+’ button at the bottom of the app on the right hand side,
Tap 'Pair with Bluetooth'
and follow the instructions on the screen.
Once your tool has been detected by Site Manager, you will be able to add things like the Assignment, Serial Number, and other important details you wish to add.
Type in the information you wish to add, then either tap 'Pair Another Tool' to continue pairing more tools, or tap Return to Inventory to view your newly added tool.
Linking
For tools that are not Tool Connect™ enabled, Site Manager provides an easy way to associate — or 'link' — DEWALT® Tags and Connectors to existing inventory. To link a Tag, Connector, or Chip to a tool, you will need to have Administrator permissions or Site Admin permissions as well as have the tool you wish to link added to your account using the Site Manager website (for more information on this, see Adding Tools to Your Account (Tool Connect Site Manager).
To link, in the app tap on the 'Inventory' option along the bottom of the screen. Next, tap on the three dots on the right-hand side of an existing unconnected tool in the list, then tap the 'Link' button.
The app will prompt you to press and hold the pairing button on the Tool Connect™ Tag or Connector, or to remove the pull tab of the Chip until it is detected by the app.
Tap complete to return to the Inventory screen to see your newly linked tool, you'll notice a new icon next to your tool showing that it is now linked to a Tag or Connector.
Unlinking
To unlink a tool from a Tag, Connector or chip, tap on the Inventory option on the bottom of the screen, then tap on the three dots on the right-hand side of a linked tool.
Tap on the 'Unlink' button and the tool and tag will be separated from one another. You can always choose to link a new Tag, Connector, or chip to the tool later, and you can always link the Tag, Connector, or Chip to a new tool if you choose to.
