Home Assignments allow you to set a default for where you want new tools to be assigned and to mark tools as available when they are returned from other Assignments. You can have more than one Home Assignment, and a Home Assignment can be a sub-assignment. For example, you might have a large project where you have a tool crib or other place where you store tools. You can designate this as a Sub Assignment on your project and also designate it as a Home Assignment as well. This will help ensure any tools that might get added to this project are automatically put into the tool crib and also will be marked as "Available" so your team knows what can be used.
Home Assignments can be set up both on the Site Manager website, and in the Site Manager Mobile Application. You have two options when setting up Home Assignments, either create a new Assignment or choose an existing Assignment or Sub Assignment to designate as a Home Assignment.
Mobile App
Creating a new Assignment as a Home Assignment
Start by tapping the Assignment option (Flag icon) along the bottom of the screen. Then tap 'New Assignment' icon in the lower right corner.
The 'New Assignment' window will appear. Fill in a name for the Assignment and as much other information as you like. To make this a Home assignment tap the check box next to 'Make this a Home Assignment' then when you are done tap 'Save' to finish.
You will be returned to the Assignment list and you will notice there is now a house icon next to the Assignment to designate it as a Home Assignment.
Updating an existing Assignment as a Home Assignment
Start by tapping the Assignment option (Flag icon) along the bottom of the screen. Then tap on the gear icon on the existing Assignment or Sub Assignment you wish to make a Home Assignment.
The 'Edit Assignment' window will open. Tap on the checkbox next to 'Make this a Home Assignment' then tap 'Save'.
You will be returned to the Assignment list and you will notice there is now a house icon next to the Assignment to designate it as a Home Assignment.
