Create a Bulk Category
1. To create a Bulk Category, navigate to "Categories"
2. In the top-right corner of the screen, click on "+ New Category"
Tip! In our system, a regular category is a grouping of unique assets that share a common trait or purpose. For example, a category might be created for drills, and within that category there may be multiple unique assets such as 15 DEWALT DCF 8, 9, and 6 drills. Each individual drill would have its own serial number and be tracked separately.
On the other hand, a Bulk category is used for non-unique assets that do not have individual tracking requirements. This could include items such as ladders, buckets, safety vests, work gloves and hard hats. These items may not have individual serial numbers or may not require detailed tracking information.
By using a Bulk category, these items can be tracked as a group rather than individually.
3. Enter the category name and check the box that says "Set as Bulk Category."
4. Enter the total quantity, model number, inventory number, manufacturer, and default assignment.
Tip: *The default assignment should be your company warehouse. This will help you keep track of the total number of bulk items in stock and available for distribution within the company.
5. Click on the picture icon if you want to upload a picture of the bulk item.
6. Then, click on "Add New Photo"
7. And upload the photo from your file explorer.
8. Crop the photo as needed and click on "Set As Category Photo"
9. Click "Save"
10. The bulk item will be displayed under the categories and inventory tab so that you can easily track and control the distribution of these assets.

11. Click "Inventory"
12. The category created would be displayed in the inventory. And you can click on the item.
13. to access the bulk item details.
Create a Bulk Item Consumables
14. You can also create bulk items as consumable. Once assigned, the item is no longer available, making it easier for you to keep track of what you have on hand.
This feature is particularly useful for businesses that have a high volume of disposable items, such as abrasives, drill bits, saw blades, screwdriver bits etc.
15. To use this feature, simply follow the same workflow as creating a bulk category, but check the box "Item is consumable". This will signal to the system that the item is not expected to be returned, and it will be removed from your inventory once it is used up.
Tip! Please be aware that there is a limit on the quantity of consumables you can add to a category, which is 100,000. If you attempt to add a quantity larger than this, the system will not allow it.
